What sets this area apart

Daiya is a residential district with medium to large villas on decent plots, and most homes were built on relatively shallow foundations because moisture has been an issue. Adding a basement means deeper excavation into layers more prone to water saturation, especially in winter. The soil contains clay mixed with gravelly sand, requiring regular perimeter drainage and strong waterproofing against water pressure. We brace the pit sides with timber boards and metal supports, and install a perimeter drain network before any concrete pouring begins.

Daiya is located in the Capital governorate, a quiet residential area near the British School of Kuwait and Daiya Park.

We maintain a minimum one-metre safety clearance between pit walls and the existing villa foundation.

Questions about Basement construction in Daiya

Call now
Why is moisture higher in Daiya basements?

The soil has high clay content and the water table rises in winter, so without robust waterproofing and regular drainage, water will seep into the space. We use double waterproof membrane and perimeter drain pipes to prevent that.

Can the basement be divided into several small rooms?

Yes, we can build light partition walls of brick or block after the main structure and waterproofing are complete. But ventilation gaps must be left between rooms and around main drain pipes.
