What sets this area apart

Mutlaa is an elevated desert ridge in Jahra with scattered rural buildings, small boutique hotels and protected shelters on high ground. The elevated terrain brings higher atmospheric humidity than low-lying areas, especially in autumn and spring when thick dew forms in early mornings. Interior walls of insulated buildings suffer condensation on the warm side of the external wall. We use moisture-resistant board with a vapour barrier on the warm (interior) side and leave small ventilation gaps between the board and external finish.

Mutlaa sits in Jahra governorate at elevation, a high desert ridge that attracts tourists and visitors.

We install moisture-resistant board with a vapour barrier on the warm side (interior wall) and create a minimum 5 mm ventilation gap between the board and external finish.

Questions about Moisture-resistant gypsum in Mutlaa

Call now
Why does moisture accumulate more on walls in Mutlaa than in lower-lying areas?

Higher altitude brings more atmospheric moisture, especially in autumn and spring. Condensation occurs when warm humid air inside heats up then cools on cold external walls. Resistant board with a vapour barrier protects the surface.

What is the difference between a vapour barrier on the warm side versus the cold side?

A barrier on the warm side (interior) stops water vapour from entering the wall cavity before it cools and condenses. On the cold side it reduces condensation but does not prevent it and may trap moisture inside the wall.
