What sets this area apart

Zahraa is an old residential district with 4 to 7-storey buildings with relatively large units and bathrooms featuring high marble floors laid in the seventies and eighties. Old designs left large gaps under floors for pipe runs, but this caused persistent dampness and marble cracking. Renovation requires complete marble removal, proper drainage of the subsurface gap, pouring a reinforced cement floor at standard height, and finishing with moisture-resistant ceramic or porcelain tile.

Zahraa lies in Hawalli governorate, an old residential district of spacious buildings but with aging technical systems needing comprehensive renewal.

Classic Zahraa bathroom marble floors sit 15 to 20 centimetres above corridor level, creating drainage and water flow problems.

Questions about Bathroom renovation in Zahraa

Call now
Why is a raised marble floor problematic in an old bathroom?

The raised level prevents proper water drainage, and the gap underneath traps moisture, cracking grout and marble itself. We lower it or modify the system.

Can the marble be kept while fixing the moisture problem?

Very difficult. Old marble sits on weak sand, and reflooring requires complete removal and rebuilding with modern insulation systems.
