What sets this area apart

Salam plots are relatively spacious and surrounded by green spaces and communal gardens, with 4 to 7-storey buildings having interior courtyards and paved parking areas. This layout allows for larger absorption tanks and separate outlet pipes for roofs, courtyards and gardens. Excess water beyond irrigation needs can flow to the public network or be stored temporarily in a tank for grass watering during dry seasons. We also measure garden and fountain areas to understand irrigation needs and desired flow.

Salam is in Hawalli governorate near Salam Co-op and is a residential district of mid-rise buildings with spacious communal gardens.

Garden and lawn areas in Salam require separate drainage pipes of at least 50 mm diameter to direct reused irrigation water.

Questions about Storm-water drainage in Salam

Call now
Can rainwater be reused for watering communal gardens?

Yes, and it is very water-efficient. We design a separate collection tank that receives roof and paved area water, pass it through a light sand filter, then pump it to drip or sprinkler irrigation lines. Excess discharges to the public network.

Do rainwater tanks need treatment before using the water for garden irrigation?

We use a simple sand filter and fine-mesh screen before pumping to the gardens, which is sufficient for irrigation. Chemical disinfection is not needed for garden and fountain watering, but we recommend tank cleaning once yearly.
