What sets this area apart

Abu Halifa is a mixed residential-commercial district with villas, apartment blocks and some service buildings on varied plot sizes. Flat roofs and enclosed yards are common here, requiring precise drainage design. Soil is relatively dry allowing absorption pits, but groundwater proximity must be considered in some locations. We design separate lines for stormwater, and follow municipal code separation standards.

Abu Halifa is in Ahmadi governorate near Ahmadi Town, where the area extends over low-lying land.

The minimum distance between a drain line and the water table must be at least one metre per municipal code.

Questions about Storm-water drainage in Abu Halifa

Call now
Can rainwater from neighbouring villas be collected in a single absorption pit?

Yes, if the pit is large enough to hold water from all villas and sits on the plot boundaries. Municipal approval is needed for shared ownership and maintenance of the pit.

What happens if groundwater rises above the absorption pit?

Water absorption stops and water pools inside the pit. We then switch to a pumping station to evacuate water. The water table must be surveyed before design.
