What sets this area apart

Shuhada is a residential district of three to four-storey homes with concrete slabs of varying thickness and quality. A rooftop annex requires thorough engineering examination of the existing slab, including visible and hidden cracks. We use ultrasonic imaging and dynamic testing to measure slab thickness and actual strength. If weaknesses appear in the original structure, we propose local reinforcement or load redistribution through additional columns before new construction begins.

Shuhada is located in Hawalli governorate as a medium-density residential district where adjoining homes vary in structural condition.

Non-destructive slab testing includes ultrasonic scanning and thickness measurement before any design approval.

Questions about Rooftop annex in Shuhada

Call now
What tests do you run before approving a rooftop annex on an older home?

We conduct ultrasonic testing to measure slab thickness, take core samples for concrete analysis, and calculate expected loads. Results determine whether construction is feasible or if reinforcement is needed.

Can we reinforce the old slab instead of adding new columns?

Possible for minor cracks using stressing or epoxy injection. But in most cases, new columns provide a safer and longer-lasting solution, especially for heavy loads.

Have a plot, or a house to renovate?
