What sets this area apart

Jaber Al-Ali villas sit on plots 25 to 35 metres deep, most with two storeys and older-generation concrete roofs 20 to 25 cm thick. When adding an annex floor, we must calculate extra loads on central and edge columns, and may need foundation strengthening if the originals were not over-sized. We conduct geotechnical soil survey and bearing capacity check before design approval, and coordinate with municipality for annex permit.

Jaber Al-Ali lies in Ahmadi governorate, a quiet residential suburb of detached villas and green spaces.

We require a full soil survey to determine bearing capacity before annex design work begins.

Questions about Rooftop annex in Jaber Al-Ali

Call now
What is the maximum load a 20 cm old roof slab can take?

It depends on concrete quality, reinforcement and supporting columns. We conduct lab testing of samples if possible, and calculate allowable load per Kuwait Building Code and site conditions.

Must the annex have separate foundations from the original ones?

If the original foundations can bear the extra load, no separate ones are needed; we strengthen if required. But if they are insufficient, we sink deeper separate foundations under new columns and tie them to the existing frame.
