Excavation, backfill & grading in Kuwait - Shadadiya

Excavation, backfill & grading in Shadadiya

Excavation and grading in Shadadiya begin with a comprehensive soil investigation to determine soil layers and bearing capacity. We strip organic and weak topsoil, reach the stable layer beneath, and then carefully compact all backfill above it.

What sets this area apart

Shadadiya's outer areas feature larger plots and relatively level terrain, but the soil is inconsistent: fine sand layers interspersed with clay and gravel lenses. This variation means we may need to dig deeper than expected to find the stable bearing layer. For backfill we select well-mixed gravel and sand materials that compact more effectively, and haul excess clay off-site since it compacts poorly in this climate.

Shadadiya is in Farwaniya governorate along the old Kuwait-Iraq road, a residential area on the governorate's outer edge.

We require nuclear density or field compaction tests every 500 square metres of compacted backfill area.

Questions about Excavation, backfill & grading in Shadadiya

Call now
Is Shadadiya soil uniform or does it vary in depth?

It is highly variable. We might find fine sand to one metre, then a clay layer, then gravel. So we take bore samples at several points on the plot before finalizing excavation depth and allowable bearing pressure.

Can the excavated soil be used directly as backfill?

Not always. We test the excavated material; if it contains too much clay or organic matter, we remove it and use selected backfill instead. Clean sandy and gravel soil goes back after compaction and testing.
