Excavation, backfill & grading in Kuwait - Qosor

Excavation, backfill & grading in Qosor

Excavation, backfill and grading in Qosor requires careful assessment of the sandy and clay soils spread across relatively large plots in southern Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorate. We run density and moisture tests before starting, and ensure compacted backfill meets municipality standards before any construction above.

What sets this area apart

Qosor plots are deep and spacious enough for standalone villas or apartment blocks on areas between two thousand and three thousand square meters. The soil here is a mix of fine sand and red clay, which requires careful testing of bearing capacity and salt content before foundation depth is set. We strip the loose topsoil, grade the base to the approved levels in the permit, then backfill in layers and compact each layer to the required density and moisture for bearing.

Qosor lies in Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorate, a district of spacious residential plots south of Kuwait City where soils are moderate sandy and clay mix.

The topsoil layer in Qosor ranges from 40 to 80 centimetres and must be fully stripped before compacted backfill begins.

Questions about Excavation, backfill & grading in Qosor

Call now
How do you handle salt content in the soil during excavation and backfill?

We test salt content from initial soil samples before starting. If levels are high, we strip the salt-laden layer and replace it with clean imported or lab-graded soil that meets building standards.

What is the difference between ordinary backfill and municipally-compliant compacted backfill?

Ordinary backfill is sand or debris piled without control. Municipally-compliant compacted fill is laid in thin lifts of 15 to 20 centimetres, each compacted by heavy machinery to reach the required density to prevent settlement later under the foundation.
