What the repair covers - Solar heater repair

What the repair covers

Panel to tap: every component of the solar heating system assessed and repaired.

  • Panel diagnosis

Collector leak checks and blocked internal flow path clearance.

  • Solar storage tank

Internal tank inspection, scale removal and leak sealing.

  • Circulation pump

Pump fault diagnosis and replacement when the unit cannot be restored.

  • Controller and sensors

Temperature sensor calibration and control board reset or swap.

  • Safety and expansion valves

Safety valve and expansion vessel tested as part of every repair visit.

  • Heat-fluid pipework

Circulation line inspection and repair of any leaking or corroded section.

Materials and methods used

  1. Descaling flush solution

Circulated through the collector to dissolve mineral scale without damaging internal surfaces.

  2. Infrared thermal scanner

Reveals cold zones in the panel indicating blocked channels or vacuum loss.

  3. Anti-freeze heat-transfer fluid

Refills the closed-loop circuit after repair to restore correct heat transfer performance.

  4. High-temperature thread sealant

Applied when reconnecting collector lines; rated for the extreme temperatures on Kuwait rooftops.

Before you call us

  1. Note when the fault appears

Lukewarm water only in the morning or all day tells us whether the fault is in the panel or the backup.

  2. Check the backup element

Confirm whether the electric backup element is on or off to help isolate the solar fault.

  3. Read the controller display

Note any error codes or unusual readings on the controller screen before you call.

  4. Heater type and age

Identify whether the panel is evacuated-tube or flat-plate, and how long it has been installed.

What goes wrong with most plumbing.

Plumbing problems start hidden and end with breaking tiles. These three cost the most.

  1. 01

    Pipes laid in a rush

Pipework rushed before the walls close stays hidden until it starts to leak.

  2. 02

    Leaks you cannot see

A slow leak behind tiles shows up as damp, stains and a higher water bill.

  3. 03

    Nobody answers in an emergency

A burst pipe at night cannot wait for a contractor who has moved on.

The solution?

Pipework, leak detection and maintenance from one licensed company.

  1. Water and drain pipes inside a wall before tiling
    Pipes laid in a rush

    First-fix plumbing by the builder

Laid as part of the build, before the walls close.

  2. A moisture meter beside a tiled wall
    Leaks you cannot see

    Water leak detection

    We find the source first.

  3. A utility room with a new water heater and pump
    Nobody answers in an emergency

    24-hour emergency plumber

Plus regular maintenance contracts after handover.

How it works.

  1. Call or whatsApp

Describe the fault and location so we can schedule the site visit.

  2. Site assessment

Technician inspects panel, tank, pump and controller in full.

  3. Diagnosis and quote

Root cause identified and a clear repair quote presented before work starts.

  4. Repair and replacement

Faulty components repaired or replaced and the system flushed clean.

  5. Test and handover

Full system run-test completed and unit handed over once output is confirmed.

What sets the price.

The repair quote is shaped by several factors that only become clear during the site assessment.

Get a quote
  1. Fault type

Replacing a sensor is far simpler and less costly than replacing the full collector.

  2. Scale severity

Heavy mineral build-up needs a longer flush cycle and more descaling solution.

  3. Heater location

Units on high or difficult-to-access rooftops increase working time and labour cost.

  4. Spare parts needed

A pump or collector is a significant part cost compared with a valve or sensor.

  5. Heat-transfer fluid refill

Refilling the closed loop with fresh heat-transfer fluid adds to the total cost.

Why one contractor beats four.

Every extra contractor means another schedule and another excuse. With us, one company answers for all of it.

  1. Turnkey

Shell and finishing with one company, from footings to keys.

  2. Pay in instalments

Construction and finishing on instalments. Ask us for the details.

  3. Engineering supervision

Architectural drawings and engineering supervision on site.

  4. After handover

Maintenance contracts and a 24-hour emergency plumber.

Does Kuwait's intense summer heat actually damage solar heaters rather than help them?

Excessive heat causes stagnation: the fluid in the closed loop boils, which can damage the pump and degrade the heat-transfer fluid. A working safety valve and correct system pressure protect against this common summer failure.

Can a cracked evacuated tube be repaired or does the whole tube have to be replaced?

A cracked evacuated tube cannot be sealed; the internal vacuum is essential to its function. In most cases only the broken tube is replaced, leaving the rest of the collector and manifold untouched.

Why does the solar heater stop producing hot water in winter even on sunny days?

Shorter days and a lower sun angle reduce output, but a complete stop usually points to a faulty temperature sensor, a seized circulation pump, or heavy scale blocking flow rather than the sunlight level alone.

How can I tell whether the circulation pump in my solar heater has failed?

The main sign is a very hot panel combined with lukewarm tap water, because heat stays in the collector instead of reaching the tank. No audible pump hum when the controller activates is a further confirmation.

Does Kuwait's hard water damage the heat exchanger inside a solar storage tank?

Yes, mineral deposits build on the heat exchanger surface and progressively reduce heat transfer. A periodic descaling flush restores efficiency and extends tank life, making it one of the most effective maintenance steps for Kuwaiti conditions.
